Bill introduces the new monthly hands-on lab series. We will discuss logistics, scheduling, and desired topics. There will be a quick overview of virtualization concepts using Microsoft products. This will include Virtual PC, Virtual Server, Hyper-V, and SCVMM. The use of VHD images, ISO files, Virtual Machine Additions, and other tips and tricks will be explained. We will also show where to find evaluation VHDs and how to make your own. Bill Wolff is a Solutions Architect in the Microsoft Practice at Unisys Corporation. Prior to Unisys, Bill was an independent consultant, trainer, and architect specializing in Microsoft development technologies. His company Agility Systems was based in the Philadelphia area. He ran the consulting firm Wolff Data Systems for 15 years and directed armies of consultants in the dot com world. Bill is founder and President of the philly.net user group, a previous INETA board member where he served as Vice President, Speaker Bureau, and involved in several other user communities. Bill was a contributing author on several books. His certifications include trainer, systems engineer, developer, and Microsoft MVP for VB.NET. |

You must bring a laptop. DeVry has tables with outlets so don't forget that power supply. We recommend more than 1 Gb of RAM and at least 10 Gb of free disk space. External USB or Firewire drives really help. We will help you get organized and install the right software for continued virtual fun! We will not have Internet access so all required software must be on your machine when you arrive. Please download the following before attending this class:
